Renaissance in Bloom

Late in the year of 2024, within the quiet walls of my apartment, this series came to life. Each still life was composed on a marble cutting tray, set against a hand-painted canvas backdrop I crafted myself. Natural light streamed softly through a window across the set, while in other moments, I experimented with the dramatic touch of flash.

This series emerged during a season of personal evolution—a time of rediscovery, peace, and quiet reflection. As classical music filled the air, each arrangement became a meditation, a celebration of femininity, romance, and stillness. Through these images, I’ve captured not only the beauty before me but also the serenity within me.

Flowers

Flowers in still life breathe life and emotion into the composition, transforming simple objects into a harmonious symphony that reflects nature's beauty, fragility, and the passage of time.

Marble and Wooden Tops

A marble or wooden top exudes timeless elegance, with its smooth, cool or warm surface adding depth and texture, serving as a silent stage that grounds the arrangement in classical beauty and enduring luxury, tailored to the piece.

Fruits and Other Foods

Fruits and other foods embody abundance and nourishment, offering a rich tapestry of color, texture, and symbolism, while evoking a sense of warmth, life, and the fleeting pleasures of the senses.

Bees and Other Insects

Bees and other insects symbolize industriousness and the delicate balance of nature, adding a sense of movement and life to the composition while reminding us of the quiet, essential work that sustains the beauty and harmony of the world around us.

Scattered Petals and an Untidy Set

Scattered petals and an untidy set evoke a sense of spontaneity and natural imperfection, creating a contrast that enhances the beauty of the carefully arranged elements while reflecting the untamed, fleeting nature of life itself.

Butterflies

Butterflies add a touch of ethereal grace, symbolizing transformation and fleeting beauty, while subtly infusing the scene with a sense of delicacy and wonder.

About Rosalia

Rosalia Ley, a former engineer turned artist.

Infusing her creations with poetic beauty, Rosalia captures emotion and narrative through evocative still life and self-portraits, each piece a reflection of her soul and a story waiting to be told.

After spending time living abroad, Rosalia was gently reminded of the art of slow living she once cherished in Spain. She felt an undeniable pull toward something more soulful—an outlet where she could pour her heart into every detail, express her essence, and reflect her spirit. Embracing slow living, she began to romanticize every fleeting moment, turning ordinary experiences into timeless works of art.
